Author’s Note: Imma try writing a full-time fic now, hope you like it! Oh, btw, this is the prologue, Kiro isn't in it YET but there is a mention of him.

Prologue

CRASH!

The loud noise scared Torinia out of her slumber and the sound of whimpers could be heard. Jumping out her bed, she looked over at her little sisters bed, then at the alarm clock on the small table separating her bed form he sisters. It read 5:23PM. Tori was startled by the lateness of the day, seeing as she'd gone to bed nothing but 20 hours ago with a headache. "How could I have slept so long?!" She screeched. The sound of crying brought her back to earth. Following the sound, she came to the slightly opened door of her little studio. Pushing the door open more to get inside, she spotted her caramel Martinez acoustic guitar lying, broken in half from the neck, the strings snapped completely form the force of the fall.

"I-oh my god...." she whispered, running towards the instrument. Torinia let her fingertips touch the shattered object in her arms and sat up. Her eyes began to fill up with the salty tears she promised herself she never let fall again.

"Tori, I'm sorry!" A small voice said form the back of the room, and Tori looked up to meet the shimmering eyes of Alexi, her little sister. Tori took one look at the rusty broken guitar strings and dropped the destroyed instrument to the ground, shaking back the tears forming under her lids. She ran over to her little sister who was shaking in the corner, tears streaming down her 7 year old face.

"I should've told you, or come and woken you up, but I couldn't! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to break it, I just wanted to see it!" She cried as Tori scooped her into her lap.

"Shh, it's ok, I'm not mad! It's not your fault sweetie, I-I-I'm just a little bit shocked is all," She soothed her. Leaning back against the wall, she let her little sister laid her head on her chest, smoothing out her long brown-blonde hair. These were the times she wished Kiro would just walk through the door and make their lives seem the least bit bearable. The one man that could make it all better. For a short amount of time at least. That's when she noticed Alexi had fallen asleep in her lap. Picking the little girl, she pulled her out of the room, avoiding looking at the smashed guitar on the carpet. As she laid her sister on her own bed, she sighed. 5:41PM the clock now read. Only 19 minutes to get to work. Damn. Well, better get going!

If only life were easier, raising your 7 year old sister, working at a low budget book store, owning an apartment still needing to be paid off, and being only 17 all at the same time. No matter how long she'd been doing this, Tori still had a lot to get used to.

Try 1: Sleep


"Tori, Tori are you home?" Yelled a voice from the open front door.

"Yeah, in the kitchen," Tori called back. He voice cracked a little and the person rushed in with concern.

"Hey Tor, rough day again?" It was almost as if he didn't even need to ask, he could read Tori like a book. Tori nodded slowly, keeping her hands on her forehead and her face cast down to the bench. She rotated her shoulders and clenched her head harder, in hopes of getting rid of her headache.

"Kiro, I slept for almost a full day! A full day! And now I have a massive headache, my boss was being a dick again today, Alexi accidentally broke my guitar-OW!" She let her tears fall as the pain in her head became worse. She nearly lost her balance and Kiro rushed over and held her up.

"Wow, wow, wow, take it easy Tor, have you taken an Advil today?" he asked, looking at her dull eyes. Tori nodded her head yes. "Drunk a lot of water?" again, yes. "Maybe you should lie down for a bit," he said and began to help her over to the little battered up couch.

"But I'm scared that if I fall asleep I won't wake up for another day, I don't want that to happen," Tori muttered and began to pull away from him, but instead she just fell to the soft carpet underneath her. Her head felt heavy and her lids started to close, though she fought to keep them open. Tori had dried tearstains down her cheeks and Kiro had no trouble picking the helpless girl up from the floor and laying down on the couch with her. He kissed her hair and held her tight in his arms.

"I'll be right here with you, it's ok, just go to sleep," And with that Torinia closed her lids and drifted back into unconsciousness...

A/N: Ok yes, I understand this chapter is actually shorter than the prologue, but I've got a case of writers block today -bleh- and I have other stuffs to do today, so sorry!

I know the feeling, I've been itching to finish my Epilogue but it's not all coming to me. *Sigh* my muses don't want to work with me on this one!

I think I may have nearly finished my stupid epilogue finally...and it's not that long and I deleted it and re-typed it and stuffs! I hope people are happy with it though!

@Snowy; I would, when I get further into my story-writing, but I don't have the security for that. My brother's room in just across from mine, and he comes into my room alot (for no apparent reason) and my dad doesn't let me shut my door, which gets very annoying when my brother doesn't turn down his music when i'm trying to work on my school assignments...

Aww, I wouldn't worry too much about the whole Yaoi/Shonen-ai thing right now. That doesn't need to be a part of fiction to make uber awesome. Update soon because I'd love to read some more!

I'll update as soon as I've finished my draft oral for school! I promise!
